Accounting on the Internet

Paradigm shift in chewy chunks

The market is full of online solutions for businesses.  You see the new accounting systems coming up, with their Web-based presentation and all the ASP benefits you can swallow.  You see the small business tools that have been designed to help business users perform their daily tasks without any knowledge or training in accounting systems and such.  The question is, are most businesses ready to accept this new way of doing business?

We see most of our professionals approaching online technologies with a certain level of skepticism, and rightfully so.  Accountants tend to be conservative because there is a high level of trust involved in what they do for their clients.  All these new systems and applications represent change and with change comes a level of risk.  And most accountants are hesitant to expose their clients to dramatic change - and risk - for fear of damaging that trust relationship.  There's a lot riding on it.

So when you begin to explore this brave new world of working online with your clients and team members, take it one step at a time.  Don't try to change your technology environment all at once.  Your staff and clients won't go for it.

It's time for you to explore the solutions and services that e-Accounting provides.  Our hosting service for QuickBooks Pro, for example, is helping hundreds of accountants to get their clients working online with no retraining and no data conversions required.  It's a pretty harmless solution when you consider that if it doesn't work out, you can always go back.
