Education and the requirement to keep abreast of changes in the industry is a part of every professional's life.  Rather than viewing this requirement as a necessary evil, use continuing professional education as a practice development tool.

We all recognize that businesses need marketing in order to capture and retain customers.  Sometimes differentiation is the best marketing tool available.  If your firm offers specialty services or features that your competitors don't then you have the opportunity to capture the market.  Developing or creating a differentiator isn't always easy.  It often requires an investment in education and other support resources to build and understand the new model.  If your going to be investing in education anyway, perhaps now is the time to begin working on that new business model or niche service that will help drive new value, and business opportunity, to your practice on an ongoing basis.
